Established in 1974 in İzmir by departed Durmuş Yaşar, Yaşar Education and Culture Foundation  contributes to date translate into over 5000 students who have been extended with support for their education.
 
In 2013-2014 academic year, Yaşar Education and Culture Foundation will award totally 175 free grants to undergraduate, graduate and college students pursuing their studies in business management, management engineering, tourism management, economy, chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, food engineering, industrial engineering, veterinary medicine, or fisheries at a State university, as well as to talented, hard-working, successful students with inadequate financial means attending vocational high schools teaching in a foreign language, under the Foundation’s Scholarship Regulation.
 
 In order to qualify for scholarship, an applicant must have successfully completed all the courses from previous academic years and must have not been subjected to any disciplinary action. Other eligibility criteria also apply, including but not limited to not receiving any scholarships from any other institution.
 
Applications are received on September-October of every year. Applicants are required to fill in the Yaşar Education and Culture Foundation Scholarship Application and Status Notification Sheet available at www.yasar.com.tr/vakif and forward the same, with other required documents attached, to the address “Yaşar Eğitim ve Kültür Vakfı Şehit Fethi Bey Cd. No:120 35210 İzmir”.
